Madan Lal - Who Got Viv Richards Wicket

Madan Lal Udhouram Sharma was born on 20 March 1951 in Amritsar, Punjab. He was nicknamed Madan Lal and Maddat Lal by his friends and fans. Madan Lal was a right-handed batter and a right-arm bowler.

In the year 1968, Madan Lal started his domestic cricket career with Punjab state, and then in the year 1973 to 1991, he played for the Delhi cricket team.

Madden Lal debuted in a Test match on 6th June 1974 against England and played his last Test match on 19 June 1986 against England. He played his first ODI on 13 July 1974 against England and last ODI against Pakistan in the year 1987.

Till now he has played 29 test matches and scored 1042 runs with an average of 22.65. He has also played 67 ODI Matches with 401 runs with an average of 19.09 runs. 

He has bagged 71 wickets in Test matches and 73 wickets in ODI matches.

Madan Lal had a great coaching career throughout his life. Madan Lal has also coached the 1996 Cricket World Cup. He has also been a part of India’s Cricket selection from 2000 to 2001. He also runs a cricket academy called Siri Fort Complex in Delhi. 

In the year 2013, Madan Lal has also appeared on the show called Hum Ne Li Hai- Shapath on the channel Life OK.

Bollywood film titled 83 has been released which showcases the win of India’s First World Cup where Harrdy Sandu is playing the role of Madan Lal.
